  • For the Nömad team
  • What push notifications are

They are the notices that appear on your phone or computer even when Nömad is closed: it is your turn to approve a delivery, the team replied, a payment needs your attention. They are the same notices as Nömad's bell; push just lets you know sooner.

    Turn them on

    • In the browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari): we never ask when you sign in. When you do something worth a reply notice (you write to the team, you approve or answer a task) we offer to turn them on and explain why. You can also do it at any time in Account › Notifications › Devices › This device.
    • On iPhone and iPad: with the Nömad app, accept the permission when it is offered or turn it on in the app's Settings › Notifications. If you use Nömad in Safari, add it to your Home Screen first (Share › Add to Home Screen): iOS only allows push for installed web apps (iOS 16.4 or later).
    • On Android: with the Nömad app, accept the notifications permission. Each kind of notice (Works and approvals, Messages, Payments…) appears as a category in the system settings, so you can silence only what you want.

If your browser blocks them, allow them in the site settings and come back to the notifications page.

    Buttons on the notice itself

    • Open takes you exactly to what it is about (the task, the conversation, the payment) and marks it as read.
    • Mark as read clears it without opening Nömad.
    • Approve appears when a delivery waits for your approval: it approves it without opening the app. On a phone it asks you to unlock it. If someone else already decided or it is not yours to approve, we tell you and you can open it to review.

When a push does not reach you (on purpose)

    • You are using Nömad on your computer: you see it in the bell; we wait a couple of minutes and, if you read it, we do not send the push.
    • Quiet hours: it arrives when they end, except what is urgent (for example, a charge that needs your confirmation).
    • Many notices in a row: they are grouped into one («3 new messages») and, if too many arrive within minutes, the rest stay in the inbox.
    • You turned it off for that kind of notice, or push altogether, in Account › Notifications.

What you see on the lock screen is a short summary. We never show email addresses or long private text there.

    Your devices and the test

In Account › Notifications › Devices you see every browser and phone where you get push, when it last received a notice and whether the last send failed. Send test sends a real notice to that device to check it works; Remove stops sending to it. A device that no longer exists (you uninstalled the app, cleared the browser data) is retired automatically.

    For the Nömad team

In Settings › Notifications › Devices search for a person to see their devices, their state and the provider's last error, and Send test push to one or all of them. At the top you see which transports are configured in this environment (Web Push, APNs for iPhone and iPad, FCM for Android). Every send, tests included, is in the Delivery log with the device and the provider's answer.
