Create your brand and complete the Genome

What Brand OS asks for when you set up a brand and how to build a Genome that is actually useful.

Setting up the brand

When you create a brand you give its name, its website if it has one and its sector. Nödo can read your website to propose a first draft of the identity that you then review.

What the Genome contains

  • Positioning: what you do, for whom and why it matters.
  • Audiences: who you talk to and what each one needs.
  • Tone of voice: how the brand sounds, with examples of what fits and what does not.
  • Creative territories: topics and angles the brand can own.
  • Visual cues: logo, colours and typefaces, which also live in the Brand Kit.

How to complete it well

  1. Start with the positioning and one main audience; the rest can wait.
  2. Paste real texts: your website, decks, emails that sound like you.
  3. Review what Nödo proposes and correct it in your own words.
  4. Come back to the Genome whenever something important changes in the brand.

The Genome is not a document to read, it is context to work with. Everything you request later comes from here.
