Three names, one job each

  • Legal name (first and last names): the one on your invoices and contracts. Only you and the Nömad team see it.
  • Display name: what you want to be called, for example "Pegu Jurado". Everyone sees it in comments, mentions and teams. Leave it empty and we use your legal name.
  • @username: your unique name so people can mention and find you, for example @pegujurado.

When you sign up

With e-mail, you type your first and last names and see straight away how people will see you and the @username we suggest; "Change" lets you pick another display name or @username. If you sign in with Google, we ask your name before you start. If your @username is taken, we give you a similar one.

Where to change them

In Settings › Profile, in the first rows. The Nömad team has it in My profile › Personal. Until you confirm your name, you see a yellow dot on your photo and "Choose your name and @username" in your profile menu.

How often you can change them

  • Display name: whenever you want.
  • @username: once every 30 days. The one we gave you can be changed right away. Your previous @username stays reserved for you for 30 days: nobody can take it to pretend to be you, and old mentions still lead to you.
  • Legal name: twice every 90 days. If you need to fix it more often, write to us and we do it.

What a @username looks like

3 to 30 characters: lowercase letters without accents, numbers, dots and underscores. It starts and ends with a letter or a number. Some words are reserved, such as admin, nomad, nodo or support.
